Bird Control Technician
Location: Working at various locations in Southern & South-Western Ontario.
Position: Permanent Full-Time with between 36 – 44 hours per week.
Job Description:
Confidently providing clients with bird abatement techniques as set out by a predetermined wildlife management plan for the project location. Employing the use of trained raptors in combination with other bird control techniques and tools. Other job duties may include egg and nest removal, record keeping, writing reports, and raptor facility husbandry.
Experience: At least three years experience handling and training falcons, hawks as well as eagles, combined with bird of prey husbandry. Experience with and adept at flying falcons to a lure. Solid bird identification skills. References for all the experience criteria required.
Education: Post Secondary College or University in one the following would be an asset. Biology – Wildlife Biology – Ecology – Ornithology – Zoology – Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Additional Credentials: Outdoors Card w/ Small Game Hunting Licence – OMNR General Falconry Licence – PAL – Driver’s Licence – First Aid w/ CPR – Working at Heights
Position Start Date: April 2019
Compensation: $22.50 to $32.50 per hour [to be negotiated]
